Jordan – Death toll rises to 20 in Dead Sea flash floods

Death toll rises to 20, mostly schoolchildren, in Dead Sea flash floods, also called as “Black Thursday”, while 43 others were injured in the Dead Sea tourist area, which is the lowest point on land. A group of students and their teachers were reported to have been swept away by the raging water caused by heavy rain during a school trip. The injured were taken to hospitals in North Shuna and Salt areas. Civil defense cadres are still searching for missing persons up till this moment.
