Iraq – The political situation worsens ahead of announcing Abdul Mahdi’s government

As the announcement of Adel Abdul Mahdi’s government approaches, the political scene in Iraq worsens due to desire of the blocs, parties and communities to obtain ministerial positions, especially sovereign positions such as the Ministries of Defence and Interior. The head of the Iraqi Group for Strategic Studies, Wathiq al-Hashimi, believes that Abdul Mahdi will not present his Government fully in order to preserve the constitutional image, while Prime Minister Media Advisor, Ihsan Al-Shammari, believes that the real obstacle to the President will emerge after the formation of the government.
