Jordan – King Abdullah responds to public demands and terminates Baqoura and Ghumar annexes in peace treaty with Israel

Jordanians expressed satisfaction with King Abdullah’s decision to decline to renew part of Jordan’s peace treaty with Israel concerning Baqoura and Ghumar annexes, which has been leasing these border areas to Israel for 25 years. King Abdullah’s decision was preceded by a number of popular events that demanded declining the peace deal, and taking back Baqoura and Ghumar, considering that these areas are occupied by Israel and not rented by them.
