Iraq – The start of the voting process in the parliamentary elections of Kurdistan

The general voting process for the parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan region began, and voters have gone since the morning hours to the polling stations to choose 111 deputies in the fifth parliamentary session of the parliament of the region, and more than 3 million voters in the parliamentary elections are distributed in four provinces represented by Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Dahuk and Halabja. While the number of polling stations is 1,260 centers consisting of more than 5,000 polling stations, where 730 candidates compete for 111 parliamentary seats, with 64 candidates competing for minorities on 11 seats 5 of them for Christians and 5 Turkmen and one seat for Armenians, Kurdistan region. The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Nechirvan Barzani, encouraged citizens to go to the ballot boxes to choose their representatives in the Parliament of Kurdistan, during a press conference held after voting.
