Syria – Rehabilitation of important archaeological sites in Raqqa city

The civil society organizations are working on restoring and rehabilitating the war-damaged archaeological sites in the city of Raqqa in the Syrian north, in coordination with the Civil Council. They have been able to clean and restore most of the sites and removed the implanted mines, including the Baghdad Gate, Rafiqa Wall of the Friend and the Raqqa archaeological museum, which is considered one of the most important sites in the city.
