Iraq – The Lizin Ballet team defies tradition with body language

The “Lizin” dance and ballet team in Sulaymaniyah, led by Meena Niyaz, the youngest ballet trainer in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, continues their training to present a performance called “The uprising Dance” at the Theater of Culture in Sulaymaniyah. The trainer has shown great interest in the members of the team, which constitute of females majority and she aims to educate them and develop their sensory, intellectual and physical abilities in a scientific and professional manner and train them to perform ballet dances. Meena managed to overcome many obstacles and challenges, especially the customs and traditions of society in order to convey the message of Ballet art, which is one of the finest human arts known in the world.
