Iraq – The start of the voting process in the Iraqi legislative elections in the Kurdistan region

In the province of Erbil, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has opened four hundred and ninety-eight polling stations by two thousand and five hundred and sixty-three stations. 503 candidates are competing in the Iraqi parliamentary elections in the region for 46 seats, representatives of twenty-five political entities, including 19 parties, and four coalitions and two candidates competing for seats distributed in the provinces of the region by 16 seats for the province of Erbil, including seats for the Christian component, and 18 seats for the province of Sulaymaniyah, and 12 seats for the province of Dohuk, including a seat for Christians. The number of voters in Kurdistan is three million and one hundred and forty-four thousand and seven hundred and thirty voters, of whom one million, one hundred and twenty-three thousand and two hundred and nineteen in Erbil.
