Iraq – Mosul Residents underestimate the importance of ISIS threats for parliamentary elections

Residents of the city of Mosul have ruled out launching any armed attacks in their city during the Iraqi parliamentary elections scheduled for May 12, stating that ISIS organization is no longer capable of carrying out armed operations after the defeats from the Iraqi forces,They also expressed their willingness to participate in the elections widely after their city was deprived of this democratic practice over the past years during the control of ISIS organization on the city, pointing out that Mosul needs new leaders in the next phase after liberation, stressing their determination to change the reality of their city through elections. The Iraqi security forces have confirmed that all measures are taken and ready to protect the elections and voters.
