Iraq – Rehabilitation of the Medical Centers of Diyala

After the damage caused to the Health Center in Al-Athima directorate of Diyala province during the control of ISIS organization in 2014, it has been rehabilitated and  recently opened in order to provide therapeutic services to about 20 thousand citizens from the people of the surrounding villages. The rehabilitation was funded by the Red cross and supervised by the Department of health of Diyala. The director of health Media of Diyala, Faris Azzawi, stated that the Center was like other centers in the province which witnessed destruction and looting of appliances and medical equipment, adding that they coordinated with international organizations of reconstruction of health institutions affected in all liberated areas as well as the security forces and Popular Mobilization crowd  to rehabilitate destroyed medical health centers for its importance and priority in the support of IDPs in the region.
