Yemen – War forces women in Taiz to join literacy centers

Like other areas in Yemen, Taiz suffers from a high illiteracy rate, especially among females, as a result of the war that has been going on in the country for more than three years and the bad economic conditions, where parents prevent their children from going to school, especially girls, because of the shells that are raining down on the city’s residential neighborhoods. Some women and girls resorted to learning in literacy centers inside Mosques in the city to improve their ability to learn to read and write.
