Iraq – Sulaymaniyah Airport suffers heavy losses due to the flight ban

Sulaymaniyah airport director, Taher Abdullah, revealed heavy losses incurred by the airport due to the flight suspension amounting to more than one million dollars per month. Dozens of travel and tourism companies were also affected by the continued flight ban in the airport. He added at a press conference for announcing the 2017 statistics that the airport registered 50 thousand passengers per month before the ban, but after the ban the number decreased to 7000 passengers per month, adding that the airport registered 40,506 passengers in 2017.
