After the lowering level of the of Mosul Dam water near the Khanki complex and with the pumping of larger quantities of water from the Mosul dam, a number of holy shrines of the Yazidi religion and the landmarks of the ancient village of Khanqi and other villages that were flooded when the Mosul Dam was constructed appeared in Khanqi, Dohuk Governorate, north of the Mosul Dam
