Dalila al-Sharabi, a Yemeni girl getting married living in Taiz in southern Yemen, was forced to flee to the areas near Taiz, while the mother preferred to stay in their home, refusing to leave. Delilah was longing to see her mother, so she paid her a visit and during her stay at her mother’s house, a fight broke out in the area near her family’s home for three days. After relative calm, Dalila stepped in front of the house not knowing that this was her last step. A land mine exploded causing her to lose her two legs, turning her delight into a nightmare.
