Sweets are less popular in Aden because of war
Aden sweets are losing popularity after it was one of the most famous products exported to the Gulf and Arab countries.
Aden of South Yemen is known for the production of many sweets which was exported to many arab and Gulf countries, but the deterioration of export due to the war of Yemen made the sweets available to Aden residents only. These sweets are Alharees, Alkhalta, Alsouri, Allahqi, Al-lado and yogurt sweets.
The industry goes back to early 40s and started with 10 people but theived until reached to 725 factories which make sweets to be served in special celebrations.
