Iraq – A Lebanese survives Mosul battles and appeals to the government to help provide shelter.

Badriya Ahmed, an 80-year-old Lebanese woman, is one of the last elderly to be rescued from the old city of Mosul after she was freed from ISIS, which detained dozens of elderly people and forcibly transported them to the front lines to use them as human shields. Where they were placed in a government building, resulting in the death of the majority of the elderly because of hunger and thirst. And after her survival, a citizen from Mosul took the old woman “Badriya” to live in his home and take care of her until reopening the elderly home in Mosul or finding a suitable shelter.
