Iraq – Sabean Mandaeans celebrate the “Golden Baptism”

On the banks of the Zab River west of the city of Erbil, Sabean Mandaeans celebrated the “Golden Baptism” on Friday, which is called “Dahafa Adimana” in Aramaic, and is considered the holiest day of the year, where dozens of Sabeans gather since the sun rises on the banks of the river and get into the water after wearing Ritual costumes.
