The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) launched a solar power plant recently set up at the Azraq refugee camp in eastern Jordan, funded by the IKEA Foundation at a cost of nearly $ 9 million. The UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Kelly Clements, launched the station to be the first camp to use clean energy. The station will provide power to 20,000 Syrian refugees who lived in the camp for two and a half years without it.
