Storyline:

Media meetings, held by the Secretariat General of the Arab League, kicked off in Jordan’s capital, Amman, Tuesday, featuring media and communication representatives from the organization’s 22 member states.

Topping the agenda –  sessions on confronting extremism and the emerging threat to society posed by the violence in electronic games. Officials also  called for drafting league-wide standards for mass media outlets.

Nasr El-Din Ahmed, Jordan’s Undersecretary of the Ministry of Media and Culture, told A24 that the conference plans to guide media and citizens and impose security and stability on Arab countries.

The League organized the conference in cooperation with the Arab Commission for Satellite Broadcasting (ACSB).

In addition, representatives of Arab unions and bodies concerned with media and communication and media officials from the Arab League participated in the conference.
