Storyline
Yemen has been receiving African migrants, for years, especially from Ethiopia and Somalia, who suffer bad traveling conditions to reach Yemen, as a transit point, towards the Gulf countries; seeking a better life.
The Yemeni activist, Youssef Mahmoud, questioned the ways through which thousands of Africans enter Aden, whether legally or through smuggling. He added that the presence of African migrants in the city worsens the suffering of Yemenis who already live in difficult conditions.
The International Organization for Migration recorded the entry of about 8,000 African migrants who arrived in Yemen last February, amid the ongoing conflict for seven years.

“The situation in Aden is bad from all aspects. African migrants increase. We don’t know if these people enter the country legally or through smuggling. I don’t know if the government is aware of this situation.”
