Syria – Qamishli hosts “Our Colors Gather Us” event for traditional customs

At the initiative of active civil and local organizations in northern and eastern Syria, Qamishli city organized an event entitled “Our Colors Gather Us” to introduce the customs of weddings and traditional delicacies to the youth and the modern generation. Young volunteers from local organizations demonstrated the rituals of various components of the city; Arabs, Kurds, and Christians, in holding weddings, and popular celebrations. The organizers also served a variety of popular dishes and their ingredients, including kebabs, Muhair, Yabrak, and others. This event aims to familiarize the young generation with all these customs and traditions that were once common among the people of the area, and are still practiced by some.
