Iraq –Iraqis welcome Parliament’s decision of the Speaker’s position
Iraqi’s opinions varied about the first session of the Parliament for the fifth legislative session, and the decision of the Speaker and his two deputies, after the session witnessed political wrangling and rivalries between the winning parliamentary forces. Political analysts welcomed this parliamentary achievement, describing the session as important as it will lead to the selection of the president of the republic, and then the coming prime minister. Citizens hoped that the new parliament would succeed in providing services to the Iraqi people and forming a consensus government, while others worried that the same parties had returned to power, demanding that Iraq’s interest be prioritized over factional interests and that the next government formed quickly due to the country’s severe economic and social crises.
