In an attempt to bring life to the Al Anbareen neighborhood in Kadhimiya city, the “Butterfly Effect” team took the initiative to decorate the alleys’ walls by drawing heritage murals. In the initiative, the walls of the age-old houses were covered with murals of influential artists and authors. Ali Khalifa, the head of the team, illustrated that when they first started, they draw murals on schools and government buildings’ walls. When Coronavirus broke out, and a curfew was imposed, they were inspired to draw on the alley’s walls. The idea was well-received by the neighborhood residents, who asked the team to draw eye-catching murals on the walls of their houses, which reflect Baghdad’s rich heritage.
