Sri Lanka – Analysts: China seeks to make Hong Kong a showroom for its products
China seeks to stifle Hong Kong’s position on the ladder of the global financial center, and from becoming a trading center, through its control of power in the economic fields and use of Hong Kong as a showroom for its products, utilizing force and other means to achieve this, which may interrupt international relations with some foreign countries, as china confirmed that Hong Kong’s infrastructure and economic climate will still make it a destination for foreign businesses in Asia. Ali Nur Ahmed, a lecturer at the University of Pelita Bangsa Indonesia, believes that China is trying to weaken Hong Kong as a business and impose economic dependency on it. For his part, Sri Lankan businessman, Mr. Mahmoud, stated that China is working on geographical and political rapprochement with Hong Kong so that it will be the showroom for products in the world.
