Iraq- Islah prison in Sulaymaniyah Launches an Exhibition for Prisoners’ Handiworks

In a rare scene, Islah prison in Sulaymaniyah held an artwork exhibition for 70 prisoners showcasing 150 handicraft items, including pieces for home decoration, furniture, hand-tailored clothes, and paintings. The event was featured for displaying 12 books, including stories, poetry, and novels which were remarkably written by prisoners in various languages such as English, Kurdish, and Arabic. The exhibition aims at offering those prisoners a chance to acquire new skills and learn various professions that would enable them to reintegrate into society once they are released. Moreover, they can spend their time doing something productive, from which they can make a living and provide for their families.
