Syria –First center to treat cancer patients for free in Raqqa opens
“Goodbye Cancer” humanitarian organization opens the first specialized center for cancer treatment at the initiative of the people of Raqqa and some doctors and pharmacists. Raqqa and its countryside people suffer from a lack of financial means to treat cancers that affect a large number of Raqqa residents, so they are forced to travel to Damascus and Aleppo to undergo treatment at a very high cost. The center’s supervisors say that they opened the center last April after conducting a census of people with different types of cancer, whose number reached 1009 to date. The center provides its registered patients with chemical doses of cancer and oncology treatments under the supervision of specialized doctors and provides them with the necessary medications. The center relies on the efforts of doctors, pharmacists, and young people cooperating with them to continue the work of the center and help cancer sufferers.
