Iraq- An Elementary School in Halabja Covers its Expenses by Its Agricultural Production

In an unprecedented productive initiative, a school in Halabja governorate – Kurdistan produced 2 tons of pomegranates in order to cover the school’s expenditures in terms of stationery and maintenance. About 80% of the school’s area is planted with at least 300 trees such as olives, peaches, grapes, and pomegranates. It is worth mentioning that the school officials are staunchest believers in the conservation of nature. In such an eco-friendly school, students are encouraged to be part of this effort where applied education is fostered
