Iraq – Experts: Recovering Iraq looted Funds Is Complex and Long Process
Two months since Baghdad conference to recover the looted funds with an Arab and regional presence, where the amount of these funds was estimated in around 360 billion dollars. Opinions differed about the ability and possibility of recovering them by the Iraqi government, as experts in strategic studies saw that the road is long and may reach four decades to recover it as it entered in investments, this case requires the issuance of judicial orders against the accused people, the implementation of agreements with countries that have the funds in it, and the assistance of an international collaborative effort. Economists explained that seeking assistance from some specialized international legal and financial institutions that can be given a percentage of those funds will bring positive results.
