The long distances from their countries did not prevent them from growing vegetables that the Asian countries in the Kurdistan region of Iraq are known for. The Bangladeshi Asian heritage is characterized by being mostly vegetarian and spicy as well as some other flavors. Some Asian workers cultivated these vegetables in the cities of the region to be fresh without the need to import them from abroad. They are sold on street sidewalks and near parks. These markets open on Friday as it is a day off and rest for them. They go to the public garden in Sulaymaniyah to eat and sell vegetables.
