Syria – Huge Turnout on One of Manbij’s Largest Libraries

In 2017 in Manbij City had opened one of the largest public cultural libraries, and named after the poet Muhammad Mulla Ghazil, one of the famous poets of Manbij, the poet whom used to be called ‘the Little Buhturi’. The library includes more than 16,000 books of various topics, including cultural and historical books, manuscript books, literary novels, psychology and others. The library attracts visitors of all ages and groups such as the local residents, especially college and university students, who aim to complete research seminars in their studies. The library also includes a reading room, literary dialogue seminars and poetry circles of all kinds, and some poetry competitions in which the majority of urban and surrounding poets participate. The library also hosts some forums to discuss social problems and human development topics.
