Iraq – Complaints about unprecedented price hikes in the market
Many low-income citizens in Baghdad complain about the unprecedented hike in the prices of groceries, fruits, and vegetables in public markets, which have finished their monthly salary. The retired Abu Bilal, who lives in a parking garage and struggles with a difficult life, says that prices have increased so significantly that his modest wage is insufficient to meet his daily needs, pointing out that the political class is responsible for what is happening in the country.
