Iraq – Government approval to hold early parliamentary elections on schedule
The Prime Minister’s Advisor for Iraqi Electoral Affairs, Dr. Hussein Al-Hindawi, stated that the early parliamentary elections will be held on time since it is a public demand as well as a demand of the protestors. According to Al-Hindawi, the indicators show the existence of wide participation of political forces, and a national dialogue is underway to prevent other forces from boycotting, while advisers to the electoral support team of the Prime Minister’s Office denied the accusations made by some political blocs and voters of attempts to falsify or tamper with the votes of voters during the electoral process because the voting mechanism will take place through modern technologies far from human intervention, which is the basis in the voter fraud process.
