Iraq – Three thousand illegal immigrants from Iraq to Belarus, most of them are young people

Iraq saw the largest wave of mass displacement since 2014, with a total of 87,000displaced families. During those years, successive governments were able to return the majority of the families to their homes. The Undersecretary of the Iraqi Ministry of Migration and Displacement, Karim Al-Nouri, stated that the present government was able to shut most of the camps, leaving just 28, whereas the number of displaced families in Sinjar reached 37,000 families, while in Al-Hol camp, located on the Iraqi-Syrian border, reached 70,000 Arab and foreign nationals. Regarding the illegal immigration of Iraqis between Belarus and Lithuania, Al-Nouri pointed out that the Ministry of Migration and Displacement is collaborating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to return them to Iraq, and issued passports to those whose passports were lost and torn.
