Two patients died in the “Gardens” Hospital in Amman, on Sunday night, following a power outage in the hospital, while the government rushed to open an investigation on the incident. Fayez Abu Hamdan, director of the “Gardens Hospital” to treat Covid patients, stated that the electricity was only cut off from some lights as a result of an electrical short, adding that the medical devices in the hospital have not been cut off from electricity, because there are electric generators that operate automatically in the event of a power outage. Meanwhile, in a press statement, Minister of State for Media Affairs, Sakhr Dudin, said that an electrical short inside the hospital caused the lighting circuit breaker to go down in some rooms, he stressed that the generators connected to the medical devices operate on their own immediately, and therefore the electricity was not cut off to the medical devices, pointing out that there are intensive investigations are currently being conducted and the government is waiting for the results of the full investigation.
