A government-declared 7-day religious holiday on the occasion of ‘Arbaeen’, the end of a 40-day mourning period after the killing of Imam Hussein, has caused discontent among Baghdad’s merchants, who feel that a seven-day holiday was way too long for businesses to be disrupted.
