Widespread media institutions amid poor economic conditions for journalists in Tunisia.

Tunisian arena has recently witnessed the proliferation of media outlets across the country, helping to reduce the unemployment rate within the scope of the media; however, this has prevented the achievement of the overall financial rights relating to wages and benefits for journalists and provided for by the fourth power law.

 

The fourth power gives full rights of wages and financial rights to journalists but the widespread media organizations prevented to do so, prompting the journalists to the implementation of the open demonstration in the Tunisian capital. And earned the support of the Tunisian Journalists’ Syndicate and civil society organizations and a large percentage of citizens considering that the fourth power is representing the people, despite the difficult economic circumstances which they suffer, but the owners of these institutions is still absent to be an indication of a lack of ability to face the law.
