Iraq – “Khan Al Mudallal”, Baghdad’s most famous antiques market
Khan al-Mudallal, located in downtown Baghdad’s old field, and is one of the oldest marketplace, dating back to the 1940s of the last century. People there say that it was a hotel for VIPs in the past, and witnessed an artistic concert for the Arab singer, Umm Kulthum when she came to Baghdad for the first time at that time. After decades, the khan turned into a famous market that sells antiques, and old currencies, especially unique ones. The purchasing movement and the evaluation of shop owners are somewhat good, but it was affected by several factors, including Covid, security conditions, and the travel of many of its visitors outside Iraq.
