The Iraqi parliament failed to hold its regular session, today, Tuesday after extending it to three o’clock in the afternoon owing to the quorum imbalance, postponing it to next Sunday. The legal advisor to Parliament Speaker Sabah al-Karbouli stated that the inability to hold the session for the third time in a row is due to the absence of the majority of the parliament’s members because they were involved in the electoral campaigns before the early elections on October 10th, Covid that delayed voting on members of the Federal Court of Cassation and the passing of draft laws and agreements with Arab countries.
