Iraq- On the Iraqi Press Day, Journalists Commemorate their 475 Victims
Iraqi journalists mark today the 152nd anniversary of Iraqi Press Day without holding any celebrations, in line with the precautionary measures imposed to curb the spread of Coronavirus. The President of the Federation of Journalists of Iraq, Moayad Al-Lami has shed light on journalists’ journey which is marked with a rich history in documenting and covering old and unfolding events for more than a century and a half. Since 2003, reporters and journalists have been grappling with many challenges and have endured many crises, not to mention that Iraqi reporters’ death toll has exceeded those who were killed in world wars. Most of which were killed during coverage of battles with ISIS
