36

Internet networks in Baghdad and the rest of the governorates have been suffering from general poor services provided to citizens and state departments for a long time, yet it costs prices, while users consider the reasons for this are due to the weak control of the authorities over the performance of these companies. The Ministry of Communications Spokesperson, Raad al-Mashhadani, stated that the government continues to pursue Internet smugglers and network violators, pointing out that the excavation work of the service departments in the capital’s areas without coordination with their technical teams was the reason behind the frequent internet outages. Al-Mashhadani revealed that the ministry has completed bids for local, Arab, and foreign companies to complete projects that would develop the communication and internet system around Iraq.
