Every year, hundreds of Iraqi farmers lose tens of dunams of agricultural production due to the burning crops, before the harvest season kicks off and with the arrival of the summer season, leaving great material losses, leading affected landowners to issue warnings of a potential repeat of the years before the scenario, which would endanger Food security, demanding the government secure protection for their crops, over the last two years, Iraq has seen a significant increase in the number of fires, with the Civil Defense Directorate recording tat 164 fires that destroyed more than 100 thousand dunams in a single month.
