Experts in Iraqi economic matters see that holidays and official and religious holidays surpass the percentage of their numbers in both Arab and international countries, according to the economist, Osama Al-Tamimi, official annual holidays are estimated at around 150 per day, which means five months a year. These holidays increased after the pandemic and the curfew imposed by Iraqi authorities, as well as shutting down ministries and government institutions, which caused financial losses to the state that, could not be reduced by official figures over many years especially with the increase in the number of employees that exceeded seven million civil employees.
