Displaced civilians in northwestern Syria stated that the Syrian regime has illegally seized the homes and lands of Syrians who fled from the military attacks waged by the Syrian army and the Iranian militias in the Idlib and Hama governorates. The displaced people pointed out that a regime-aligned militia and the “General Peasants Union”, which is dominated by the Syrian government, took part in capturing these lands and selling them at auction to the Syrian regime supporters adding that the peasants’ unions have become a weapon in the Syrian government’s systematic suppression of people.
