Lebanon-On the Anniversary of the Lebanese Civil War, Activists Calls for A Grass-root Revolution While Denouncing the Civil War

Upon the Liberals’ call to commemorate the 46th anniversary of the Lebanese civil war that marks the 23rd of April, activists organized a sit-in at Martyrs’ Square in solidarity with the Lebanese Army. They raised banners in support of the army while denouncing the possession of illegal weapons. During which, activists made it clear that they insist on resisting until Lebanon becomes solely a state for its own nation and not for factions. It is worth mentioning that Lebanon has been enduring for at least a year from the worst economic meltdown since the civil war of 1990 that paved the way for a sharp depreciation of the country’s currency’s value and a poor purchasing power amid abject poverty
