Syria – Iran’s militias raise concerns in ISIS liberated areas
The area dividing SDF forces, the Syrian forces backed by the Iranian militias, and the Iraqi forces witness security tensions from time to time as a result of the Syrian regime forces and Iranian militias’ effort to destabilize security in that area to dominate it two years after crushing ISIS by the Syrian Democratic Forces and the International Coalition. According to the spokesperson of the Deir Ez-Zur Military Council, in addition to the involvement of ISIS cells, Iranian militias are sowing discord among the residents in the area as well as luring them with money to stir up discord and destabilize security in the area against the DSF.
