Iraq – Marking Nowruz Festival with Kurdish cultural festival

With dances, fashion shows, and other artistic events, the Nowruz Cultural Festival has started in Sulaymaniyah to preserve the Kurdish heritage. According to the artist, Shwan Qardaghi, the festival was held in Sulaymaniyah’s “Maca Square” and featured a show of Kurdish costumes and folklore handicrafts as well as illuminating the Nowruz torch and some local exhibits. The festival will last for four days until the Nowruz Festival starts on March 21.
