Iraq: UNESCO Launches a Training Session for Female Officers on Mechanisms to Promote the Safety of Female journalists in Iraq
Under the patronage of UNESCO, the media office in the Ministry of Interior organized a training course for female officers on mechanisms for promoting the safety of journalists and combatting impunity for murderers of female journalists, along with alleviating the risks of the media coverage. Female officers actively engaged in the training by proposing new laws that would protect journalists while promoting some legislation. This was held mainly due to risks surrounding journalists while on duty. These risks are primarily provoked by mafias, terrorist groups, and management corruption
