On the first day of the conference, several topics were discussed; including strategic planning, integrated management of water resources, water, and food security at the internal and external levels, climate impact challenges, regional and international cooperation to reduce water shortages, the impact of terrorism on the water system and ways to avoid its risks, and mitigating the impact of natural disasters.
