Iraq- Pope’s posters cover the streets of Iraq marking his historic visit
The welcoming banners and posters of the Pope have filled the major streets in four Iraqi governorates in preparation for his visit to Iraq that starts on this Friday, until March 8th and this is his first visit since he chaired the Catholic Church in March 2013. The streets of Baghdad, Najaf, Dhi Qar, and Nineveh, have been covered with his posters and welcome banners in Kurdish and English languages. Some of the phrases written on the banners were; “Welcome Pope Francis in Dhi Qar” and “You are part of us and we are part of you”, whereas the main streets where the Pope’s procession will take place have been decorated, as well as the churches in Baghdad and Nineveh marking his arrival.
