Iraq – Experts: 2021 operational budget and its deficit contradict with the Public Administration Act
Baghdad – Iraq 09/12/2020
Iraqi economists consider that the 2021 budget will be operational at a high extant and that the Iraqi government attempts to adapt it to the bad economic conditions that the country is going through. Experts explain that the deficit percentage contradicts with public administration act which urges the government to work on reducing the expenditures and proceed with finding solutions to bridge the budget deficit without introducing new debts to Iraq. In addition to maximizing revenues and think about how to finance the deficit without charging Iraq with additional debts, especially that the expected deficit in the 2021 budget could reach 22% of the total spending ceiling and about 8% of the GDP.
