Yemen – “Al-Selwi”, Yemeni artist illustrates war and siege on the walls of her house

By painting, the people of Taiz express their feelings towards the reality of war and siege they have been living for five years under the dominance of the Houthi group. Asma Al-Selwi is one of the artists who manifest the conditions of her and her people through painting, yet she didn’t find an exhibition in the city to demonstrate her paintings, however, she resorted to the walls of her house to sculpt masterpieces. Despite what the war destroyed, the artists try to overcome the grim conditions of the country through painting on the walls.
